1905-S Philippines Peso, Curved Serif on 1, Allen-16.06, MS64 PCGS. The 1 in the date has sloped feet on Allen-16.06, and squared-off feet on Allen-16.06a. The present variety, with sloped feet, is more available. But any Allen variety of the 1905-S is rare as a near-Gem. This lustrous and boldly struck peso exhibits light to medium tan-brown toning near the rims. A lens shows only delicate contact throughout. As of (11/21), PCGS has certified two MS64 examples as Allen-16.06, and another two MS64 pieces as Allen-16.06a, with none finer. The NGC Census shows one peso as MS64 (feet status unknown) and none finer.
