  • "The man who would come to be known as "The Say Hey Kid" was born in the small community of Westfield, near Birmingham, Alabama, on May 6, 1931. As a child he wanted to be a country/western singer but by the time he was in high school it was very apparent that his baseball talents were superior. In 1948, he joined the Birmingham Black Barons, a semipro team, and signed a contract with the New York Giants in 1950. The following year he was playing with the Giants' top farm team in Minneapolis. The next year Leo Durocher became the manager of the Giants and called Willie to New York. Although he missed the first twenty-nine games of the season, he was still chosen Rookie of the Year. For the next twenty years Mays rewrote baseball history; he was chosen most valuable player in 1954 and again in 1962. In 1979 he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and the following year he started the Say Hey Foundation which provides scholarships to deserving children."

I am an active seller on Unisquare. I visit Unisquare at least once almost every day to check my listings so don't be afraid to make a purchase. I am not a set it and forget it seller.

Comic books and magazines are not eligible for shipping by Media Mail because they contain advertisements. I mail single comic books bagged and boarded and taped to a section of cardboard larger than the comic book. This is placed inside a stiff cardboard mailer and mailed by USPS Ground Advantage (First Class Mail) for $7.50. I can mail up to twelve comic books placed inside a Gemini Flash Comic Book Mailer by Priority Mail for $10.15.

If you are purchasing multiple items, please wait for me to send you a PayPal invoice before making your payment. It will allow me to combine your items into one package and will save you money on the shipping charges. Thanks!
