This is an original, vintage December 1966 issue of Car Classics magazine published by Ames Publishing Company. It was published bi-monthly or 6 times a year. It was published for the owners, restorers, repairers, and anyone else with an interest in the preserverance and restoration of classic autos of all makes and models. It was mostly in black and white color except for 8 pages done each month in full color, much of which went to the 2 to 3 centerfold car photos in each issue (great for framing or such).Each centerfold car had a nice feature article also on it. This issue had two centerfold autos the "1932 Packard" and the "Locke Model L". In addition to these articles and photos there are excellent informative articles with photos on the - 1922 Model T Ford Truck, Model A Ford, 1903 Smith Runabout, Model T Ford Fire Engine, 1930 Cadillac, 1932 Packard Phaeton, 1930 Lincoln, Wills Saint Claire. One will also find lots of vintage ads in its pages and more info packed short story columns in its 74 pages. This will be great for any classic auto lover.
One of the more interesting articles to read in this magazine for us who love cars and many others also, towards the back end of the magazine you will find THE MARQUES OF RECORD- which is a list of nearly 2000 makes at that time of cars made just in the USA and since it had been compiled a few years before they had published it you will see it is not complete. At the time they had planned on always keeping a copy in desk and correcting and adding to it over the years and publishing it every 20-40 years. Whether that has been done lately or if they are even thinking of doing someday I have no idea but a list complete and updated would be so interesting.
